Its already February, but I wanted to mention a few things about January. Since the new year, I had the opportunity to hear the many resolutions of friends, students, clients and coworkers. Some of them had big aspirations like starting their own business, passing exams, career changes, learning a new language, going overseas and starting a family. Many others had health based goals like losing weight, cutting back on drinking, quitting smoking, learning a new sport, running marathons etc.
However big or small, it was inspiring to hear so many resolutions. One of my personal goals is to learn to write kanji instead of type it. I practice with an iphone app called “skritter”. I really recommend it for foreigners trying to learn Japanese. Work wise, I hope I can support foreigners who want to start a business in Japan- because for them, it’s their big dream and it takes dedication, planning, and tons of effort to make a business successful. It’s also new and interesting for me to see them through the whole process.
Anyways, on a completely irrelevant and unrelated note, I hope it snows enough in Tokyo to build a snowman.
